CHALLENGE

How to create a new brand for a sticker service that both delights and inspires positivity into people's lives?

WHY IT MATTERS

When faced with life's obstacles, it's easy to fall back to pessimistic and cynical thoughts. We hope to create a brand rooted in sincere and optimistic values that can connect people through positive thinking rather than negativity.

THE IDEA

People love stickers.

It's a simple way to make someone smile. As a hobby, they're affordable and easy to collect. Stickers are also powerful messaging platforms whose best quality is their simplicity. We want to combine intentional design with a sticker’s innate simplicity to tell the story for our brand.

We created Optimistick, a sticker company based in a monthly subscription service.

We offer different themed packs for each month's subscription.

WHO IS IT FOR

Chatting with fellow sticker-fans gave us the inside scope on their habits and behaviors. We identified that sticker users into two main categories: the "Expressor" and the "Collector".
We discovered that the Collectors love stickers as much as Expressors do, but they hesitate to peel and use them because they want to preserve them. To the Collectors, peeling stickers means the end of a sticker's life cycle. They want to extend the sticker's life for as long as possible by keeping them safely tucked away.
We are targeting the "Collectors" as our core audience.
Our goal is to help the Collectors overcome the hesitation in using them. Expressors are already comfortable with their "sticker-using habits".

OUR SERVICE

Customers can experience Optimistick in two main ways: our printed and digital stickers.
Printed stickers are sold on our website as part of the monthly subscription service or one-off packs.

Digital stickers can be download for free from the App Store. More purchases of the printed stickers can unlock special editions of the digital sticker packs.

PACKAGING DESIGN

Each pack comes with 10 stickers, 2 of each design. The packaging is designed with the Collector's needs in mind.

THE WEBSITE

The website is available for desktop and mobile. We focused on the mobile application due to its easier access to digital stickers.

GET TO KNOW THE STICKERS

Every month, the sticker designs for the new theme will be revealed on the home screen. Past themes are archived and will be available for browsing. Customers can look through the selections before choosing to subscribe or making a purchase.

SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS

Customers can choose the length of their subscriptions, depending on their interests. They have the chance to test the service before committing to the longer 12 month payment plan. Customers who make the commitment receive a price deduction for their subscriptions.

CHECKOUT AND MORE

Choosing to subscribe will bring the customer to the shopping cart. Purchases of the printed stickers will unlock free digital stickers for customers to download from the App Store.

DOWNLOAD DIGITAL STICKERS

After creating an account or logging into an existing account during the checkout process, customers will have access to the download link for digital stickers. First-time buyers will need to download the App from the App Store for iMessage. The download link will bring returning customers to their existing App.

CREATE YOUR OWN STICKER PACK

For customers who are looking to purchase past stickers, they can customize their own sticker pack made up of any designs from the old themes.

SHARE THE POSITIVITY

Customers are not only encouraged to collect the stickers from the Optimistick website, but also share them with the public. We wish to help Collectors break out of their usual mindsets. One method is to use the digital stickers in text messaging. By sharing through texts, users can discover new sticker designs, which can be added into their own digital sticker collection. Newcomers to Optimistick will be introduced to our concept and taken to our page in the App Store.

PROCESS

The entire design process had been highly collaborative. We used Figma to create the wireframes and high-fidelity screens for the website. We brainstormed together on the overall brand concept and sticker themes.
